How to Make the Final Call
Ask two questions before opening a tray:
- What D count are you building? 2D–4D — 0.07 mm. 5D–10D — 0.05 mm. 10D+ — 0.05 mm or 0.03 mm. Never use 0.07 mm above 6D on most natural lashes.
- What finish does the client want? Soft, fluffy, cloud-like — 0.05 mm. Defined, structured, bold — 0.07 mm at lower D counts.
The most common mistake is using 0.07 mm at high D counts because it's easier to handle. A 10D fan at 0.07 mm weighs approximately the same as four standard Classic extensions on a single natural lash — which will cause premature shedding and potential damage regardless of technique. Match the diameter to the D count, not to your handling preference.
